Economic Development
(getting involved)

Where do Economics Majors settle in the work world? How do I meet people who can help me in the future?

What questions are in your mind about the future? For those serious about locating a good job directly after college-you might want to join one of our planning committees. They consist of an Events and a Networking group. Both exist to expand your options- now and after graduation.

Events Group
Knowing where you’re going is 75% of the battle.

Our Events committee helps determine speakers presenting at our meetings. Committee members get first hand experience contacting and interacting with people in industry and government. They keep up with events at the Career Center for how they pertain to economics (career fairs, workshops, databases available). Also, they assist in setting up networking events. For more information contact:

Networking Group

It’s a mighty big world out there. Having a network when you are out of school helps!
-With people who know the down to earth friendliness of UNT graduates. Use the network: in up times when you are ready for a new and better job, or to trade and gain new ideas with others which could help make YOU a star, or in down times when you feel career stifled and need a change (ie your division/company is eliminated or moves, or your boss reminds you of the ‘Wicked Witch of the West’).

The Networking Committee builds student-alumni contacts. We’re building a dynamic network. Help make it happen ~ Contact:
Network Chairman:  xxxxxx   xxxxxxx    xxxx@unt.edu
Vice Chair:         xxxxxx      xxxxxxx    xxxx@unt.edu
